LOCAL STUDENT PARTICIPATES IN FRESHMAN PRODUCTION
Tracy Hammond of Fort Wayne participated in the 29th annual Christ College Freshman Production, “Chasing the Wind,” November 8-10 at VU. The play stars three protagonists who are on a quest to find the “Good Life.” The Christ College Freshman program is a two-semester sequence of interdisciplinary honors courses. The classes focus on the ideas that have shaped a range of traditions, and this theme is partly explored throughout the creation of the annual freshman production. In just ten weeks of intense collaboration, the students who make up the class write, stage, and perform an original 90-minute musical based on themes encountered in class.
Tracy Hammond played the role of a nurse and was a gospel choir performer in “Chasing the Wind.” She was a member of both the musical performance and the script and lyrics committees. Hammond, a freshman at VU, is majoring in biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a 2001 graduate of R. Nelson Snider High School and is the daughter of Stanley and Catherine Hammond of Fort Wayne.
