Two Waynedale girls finished 1-2 in the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation 2003 Junior Tour Golf Championship at McMillen Park Golf Course. Kristi O’Brien fired an 18-hole, 2-day total of 91 and Heather Hendrickson shot a solid 95 to take home the two biggest plaques in the Jr. Tour’s biggest annual tournament. Jordan Essman, Angola, was 3rd with 97. The fast improving Hendrickson, who attended Memorial Park Jr. High, a fine Magnet School, also won the long drive award. For O’Brien, it was the 3rd year in a row that she won the Tour Championship. Both girls take lessons from Scott Pieri, a teaching pro at Chestnut Hills. Kristi is in 8th grade at St. Therese School.
