On one of the last warm fall days The Waynedale Community Improvement Team held the first Free Waynedale Fall Festival at the Southwest Conservation Club off of Bluffton Road on Saturday, October 20th. The event was created to bring the Waynedale community together with a free event that invited the public to explore the grounds of the unique-to-Indiana Conservation Club.

The Club’s parking lot overflowed with cars as over 550 visitors within the 2 hours the event ran had the opportunity to enjoy all that the Fall Festival had to offer. Children dressed from beasts to beauties first gathered treats from the local business sponsored trunk-or-treat. Then lined up to play fall themed games.

After, most hopped on the first hayride that leads to the beginning of the Southwest Conservation Club’s nature trail, where the scavenger hunt yielded many animals to find along the walking trail. With the leaves changing and great scenic views of the ponds, many were heard just enjoying the fall foliage, and proclaiming, “I didn’t even know this Club was here, we’ll have to come back.”

At the end of the trail was a second hay ride that picked everyone up for a little longer of a ride, and dropped off near the concessions stand. After a snack at the concessions, many took a short walk over to tour the emergency vehicles and the Coe Heating & Air race car.

The volunteer committee from The Waynedale Community Improvement Team stated after the event that they were very happy with the amount of people who came to the event, and they plan on holding the event again next year.
