NATIVE AMERICAN GATHERING

Come together meeting/workday – Saturday, March 16, 2002. Bring your latest project and a dish to share at mealtime. Share your skills and make friends too. Call Mark Stuerzenberger at 623-6023 evenings.

"I feel there is a need to have a Native American community that is organized to preserve traditions, as well as support each other. So, I'm trying to gather the community together and form an Intertribal group. I'll have a meeting of interested people at my home on March 16th, 2002. I plan on working with crafts, sharing a meal, making new friends, and possibly a small bonfire (weather permitting)."

"I have a Cherokee/Miami ancestry. I am the past chairman of the Kekionga Native American Alliance. My two sons and I play on the Intertribal Drum "Painted Turtle." I also play on the Miami drum "Twigh Twee" which is the host drum of the Miami Nation of Indians."

OLYMPIC SPIRIT. The coming together of people and cultures, sharing in love, light, and harmony is a prayer answered, as witnessed by the spectacular opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics. My heart fairly burst with pride to see Indian tribes represented.

WOW! My spirit was right there, dancing with them. A Gold Medal Blessing of Spirit.

Plan now to watch the Indian dancers at Morsches Park in Columbia City this August. Opening ceremonies start at 1:00 pm for Intertribal Indian Dancing.

If you enjoyed the Native American dancers in the opening ceremonies of the Oympics, you will enjoy this even more.

Hope to see you ALL there!
