Are you in the market for a new bowling ball? Not sure what kind or type to get? With the flood of new technology in the bowling ball market, bowling is booming. Here is a little help to determine which ball(s) may be the most beneficial for you.

First and foremost, visit your favorite local Pro Shop. The Pro's know what kind of balls react best on local conditions. Take notes on which balls are recommended.

If you still want to narrow your search and get national opinions, hop on the internet and check out some websites that should help further your journey. A few that I have come across are www.bowlingballreviews.com and www.pbatour.com, (run by the Professional Bowlers Tour). These sites provide you with information and opinions about most every ball that has ever been manufactured.

After you think you have found the perfect ball, make a trip back to your local Pro Shop and get one drilled. I do not recommend purchasing a ball from an internet site because it may take up to 2 weeks for the ball to arrive and if you elect to have the cyber-shop drill the ball, it may lack the hole customization that only your local Pro Shop can provide. Purchasing a ball online can actually cost you more in the long run than purchasing it locally.

Like I said, there is a flood of new technology, new coverstocks, new drilling patterns, etc... and your local shop can analyze your game and needs better than cyberspace. Visit one today.

A few other websites that may be of interests are the American Bowling Congress' www.bowl.com and Fort Wayne's own www.fortwaynebowling.com. The later site keeps you updated on upcoming local bowling tournaments as well as local achievements. If you have any questions on this article, call me at 478-2483 and I'll help answer any bowling questions you may have.
