Deer Park Irish Pub announces bands forFourth Annual Craft Beer Festival

Five performing groups will play at The Deer Park Irish Pub during its fourth annual Craft Beer Festival, Saturday, October 5th, 1 to 5 p.m. The festival has been organized to provide a forum for nationally-known craft brewers to celebrate their art and tradition with local beer enthusiasts, says Deer Park Pub owner Tony Henry.

The band line-up is as follows:
1 p.m. Skip Calvin
2 p.m. Blue Shot Sugar
3 p.m. Waynedale Whalers
4 p.m. Scratch & Sniff
5 p.m. Harp Condition

Dozens of micro-brews will be on tap will including four products from nationally-known Sierra Nevada, several beers from O’Fallon Brewery of O’Fallon, MO and an Ocktoberfest from Goose Island of Chicago, IL. Participating regional brewers include: Bells’s Brewery of Kalamazoo, MI, Figure Eight of Valparaiso, IN, Cutter’s Brewing of Avon, IN, and Chapman’s Brewing Company of Angola and Thr3e Wise Men <http://www.thr3ewisemen.com/> Brewing Co of Indianapolis serving a variety of craft brews. In addition, local microbreweries include Affiné, Brewers Art Supply, Mad Anthony, NE Indiana Home Brewers and Summit City Brewerks.

“We’ll be building on the success of our first three craft beer festivals,” Henry says. “At our annual craft beer festival, we’ll sample many fine craft beers,” Henry says. “Craft beer connoisseurs will enjoy four hours of beer tasting from a selection of more than 50 craft and home brews… they’ll think they have died and gone to beer heaven.”

Local Food Truck Affiné will be serving smoked pork sandwiches and unique menu items; Getaway Grill will be serving their specialty fajitas and tacos. In addition, Riegel’s Pipe & Tobacco will be hosting a cigar table featuring fine, imported cigars.

“We’ve got everything you need for a relaxing Saturday afternoon,” Henry quips, “what better way to complement a fine craft beer and great food than with a good imported cigar?”

Admission to the event is $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Henry said proceeds from the festival will go to the Jerome & Marganelle Henry Foundation for Neighborhood Health Clinics. The foundation helps provide health care to the working poor.
