The Filipino Channel Made Available to FiOS TV Subscribers for a Limited Time Following Devastation in the Philippines

FORT WAYNE, IN – In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, Frontier Communications is allowing FiOS® TV customers to access The Filipino Channel (TFC) without a subscription. During relief efforts of one of the world’s biggest storms, TFC is providing special coverage on the ground in the Philippines.

Frontier customers will have access to TFC through Friday, Nov. 15 in an effort to connect Filipino Americans to their homeland during this time of crisis. Typhoon Haiyan was more than three times as powerful as Hurricane Katrina, which hit the U.S. eight years ago.

“Frontier wants to keep people connected, especially in times of a major crisis. It only makes sense for us to help The Filipino Channel reach as many viewers as possible with updates on Typhoon Haiyan’s damage and recovery,” said John Lass, Area President for Frontier’s C entral Region.

TFC is actively soliciting aid through the ABS-CBN Foundation International’s Sagip Kapamilya for Typhoon Yolanda Emergency Relief fund with on-air scrolls intermittently throughout its broadcasts. For more information visit
