Kristi O’Brien Golf

The Symetra Tour rankings have been updated. Recently Luers grad, Kristi O'Brien was ranked #163, based on her Q-School #2 score last year. She played great when she passed Q-School #1 in California to qualify for the SYMETRA Tour. But she didn't do well at Q-2 in Florida. So she fell in rank. But, they re-evaluated the ranking, after the tour was well under way.

Kristi, after not getting accepted into any Symetra events at all early on this spring (limiting only 144 ladies in each event), has...

Elmhurst Little League

To the average individual who has never had the wonderful opportunity to become involved in the Elmhurst Little League, one would assume it is just what the name implies, a little group of little boys and girls playing an unorganized game of baseball on a Saturday afternoon.

That, my friends, is hardly a true picture of Elmhurst Little League from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our Elmhurst Little League is a vast culmination of 300 or more highly trained disciplined young individuals, with dedicated...

The American traditions of parades, cookouts, and fireworks help us celebrate the summer season, especially our nation's birthday on the Fourth of July. However, fireworks can turn a joyful celebration into a painful memory when children and adults are injured while using fireworks.

Did you know sparklers can reach 1,800 Fahrenheit – hot enough to melt gold? The recently released U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Fireworks Injury Report estimates that in 2013 approximately 11,400 people...

While summer is a break from school, the Sylvan Learning Center of Fort Wayne doesn't believe that the time off should also be a break from learning. A recent survey* from Sylvan Learning found that on average, kids spend significantly more of their free time playing outside (30%), playing video games (17%) and watching TV (18%) than reading (12%). Additionally, research** has shown that kids should read at least five books over the summer, yet 46 percent of tweens are reading four or fewer...
