FIRST GRADERS BAKE AND SELL COOKIES FOR “COOKIES FOR CHRIST”

St. Joseph-St Elizabeth School first graders and their families have been busy baking dozens of cookies for their annual fund-raising service project, "Cookies for Christ."

Each first grade family is asked to bake four dozen cookies. The cookies are for sale for 25 cents each from Dec. 2 to Dec. 5. St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth Schools students, faculty, staff and families purchase and enjoy the homemade cookies.

EAGLES DEFEAT SAINTS

The Saint John-Fort Wayne (Fairfield Ave.)/St. Joe Hessen Cassel Eagles recently beat the Mishawaka Catholic Saints. The Mishawaka Catholic Saints were the undefeated South Bend CYO Champs.

The small numbered, but tough Eagle squad of 20 players, beat the Saints on a LAST SECOND "Hail Mary" pass from LaShon Bright to Deshawn Bussell with 26 seconds to secure the final lead and another Eagle Diocesan Championship.

ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL STUDENTS MOVE INTO NEW FACILITY

Details

The long awaited moving day is here for the students and staff of St. Joseph Elementary School in Monroeville. The children, teachers and staff treked from their old school to the Monroeville Elementary School building that was purchased this year from the East Allen County School District.

The procession began at the existing school at 1:00 p.m., along with a blessing of the backpacks and then the children, teachers, and staff walked to the new school.

FOSTER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ON NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES

The Foster Park Neighborhood is now part of the National Register of Historic Places, making it the fifth Fort Wayne property or neighborhood to receive the prestigious designation this year. The National Register is the nation's official list of properties considered worthy of preservation.
