Northstar-Accounting

North Star Accounting is opening its second office at 3108 Lower Huntington Road, next to the railroad tracks. Expected opening date is Monday, January 27, 2014.

Owner, June L. Ball, CPA started the business in 2005 out of her home. In 2008, she opened her first office in Roanoke with a vision to create an accounting firm for all people.

The Jesters of the University of Saint Francis will present their annual spring performance on March 8 at 6 p.m. and March 9 at 3 p.m. in the North Campus auditorium at 2702 Spring Street. The Jesters program and this year's performance are supported in part by a grant from the AWS Foundation.

Cook-50-yr-award

Robert Cook, of Kingston Residence, received a special surprise Christmas present. On December 23, he was visited by Alfred Brothers who is the Chair of the Ambassadors Club, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America.

Mr. Brothers presented Bob with a letter, plus an official certificate from John McNaughton, Sovereign Grand Commander, and a commemorative pin marking his 50th year as a Mason in the Valley of Fort Wayne.

The American Legion #241 Auxiliary made Christmas Baskets filled with essentials, candy, etc. for the Liberty Landing Residents.  Liberty Landing is a residential transitional facility for homeless veterans.  There are at this time 37 men and two women.  This is the only veteran shelter in...

St-Michael-new-members

It was a special day for St. Michael Lutheran Church at 2131 Getz Road on November 17th when nearly 60 new members were received into membership. Pictured above are some of those people accepted by transferring from a sister congregation, or they had their membership reaffirmed, or a number of them completed the seven week adult instruction class (taught by Pastor Lessing) and three orientation sessions, known as Next Steps-taught by Pastor Nichols.
