A group of college students were honored on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at American Legion Post 241, Bluffton Road. The Scholarship Committee presented 7 college sophomores with $1000 scholarships during a special ceremony.

For the year of 2004, Post 241 will present 7 - $1000 scholarships to college students and an additional 6 - $500 scholarships will be presented to trade school students. Overall Post 241 is proud to say that they have donated over...

Coast guard Cadet Joshua K. Drysdale, son of Army Command Sgt. Maj. and Mrs. John K. Drysdale of Strongsville, Ohio, and grandson of Tom Elsch of Fort Wayne, and grandson of Janet E. Lengerich of Geneva, recently enrolled as a cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut.

The Waynedale News caught up with Amanda Perez last Friday. I last interviewed Amanda in February of 2002.

Amanda grew up in Waynedale and was discovered by a talent scout who signed her with Universal Records. I wanted to talk to Amanda again to see if the fanfare had created any changes in her life. I visited her in her new recording studio.

The 9th Annual LeighAnn Palmer Foundation Golf Outing is scheduled for September 7, 2003. BRONZE STAR MEDAL FOR WWII VETS WHO RECEIVED COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE OR COMBAT MEDICAL BADGE
