COE FAMILY CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF RACING

It started back in 1953 when Bob Coe took to South Anthony Speedway. At that time he was driving a 1937 Ford. Bob Coe became one of the best in his time and earned the nickname "Bullet Bobby Coe." Aside from auto racing Bob Coe also became the founder of Coe Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in 1962.

Pfc. Leah M. Fulton, Capri Drive, Waynedale is a member of the 3rd Division Armored Calvary Regiment and is currently taking part in Iraqi Freedom. She is the daughter of Edwin D. Fulton.

This young woman enlisted in the Army immediately after graduating with Honors from Wayne High School. Leah was a cheerleader for 4 years at Wayne High School and attended 3 years of ROTC. She entered boot camp on February 2002. Her basic training was in Fort Jackson, S.C...

ST. THERESE PARISHIONERS GATHERED FOR THE DEDICATION OF THE NEW $3.6 MILLION WORSHIP SPACE

Less than 13 months after ground was broken for their new church, St. Therese parishioners gathered for the dedication of the new $3.6 million worship space. The view from the back of the new church is breathtaking as natural sunlight streams through the stained glass window, illuminating the altar and congregation with many hues of refracted light.

PINNICK – RIDDLE ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED

Terry and Leah Pinnick of French Lick, Indiana announced the engagement of their daughter, Faith Ann Pinnick to Michael Justin Riddle both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Riddle's parents are Joe and Cindi Riddle also of Fort Wayne.

Faith is a 1999 graduate of Jasper High School in Jasper, Indiana and a 2003 graduate of Taylor University Fort Wayne Campus, with a degree in Elementary Education. She is teaching at Bright Hope Christian School in Fort Wayne.

SNYDER PLACES SECOND AT STATE

Danielle Snyder competed at the State SKILLS-VICA (Vocational Industrial Club of America) hairstyling competition and won 2nd place. The contest was held in Indianapolis on April 12th, 2003. She competed against 14 other contestants from Indiana. She won a large medal and a big assortment of hairstyling products. The competition consisted of 2 haircuts and styles on a manikin, 2 written tests and also an evening style on a model.

TWO LOCAL ARTISTS HONORED

Details

Mayor Graham Richard honored 33 area students with Mayor's Choice Awards on Monday, April 21st. Their artworks were chosen from among 6,000 entries submitted by Northeast Indiana students. Corey Leffers from St. Therese and Amanda Kurtz from Waynedale Elementary were the two Waynedale recipients. Corey said, "I did a picture of Jesus, but my friends said if I turned it sideways it looked like a fish."

WAYNEDALE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE PLANNING BEGINS

This year the Waynedale Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th. Line-up prior to the parade will be at Waynedale United Methodist Church (Church Street & Old Trail). The parade will start at 9:00am and those wishing to be in the parade should be at the WUMC parking lot at 8:00am.

Parade sponsors are American Legion Post 241, VFW Post 1421, and AmVets Post 33. Post 241 Commander Charlie Rathsack has already had organizational meetings and the scheduling progress...
