Auditions for William Shakespeare's THE TAMING OF THE SHREW will be held Sunday, September, 29, 2002 from 2pm to 4pm in the Gunderson Auditorium in Achatz Hall of Science on the USF campus. Helen, from H&H Shoe Repair called last Monday. She mentioned that she would be flying her flag on Wednesday, 9-11-2002. She requested a visit from The Waynedale News for a few photos. After stopping at H&H, I drove around the Waynedale area and shot a few more pictures. Rememberance of the tragedy of a year ago was everywhere. 2002 Big Ten Classic Champs - The Purdue Bass Club, Advised by Rick Hendrickson.

7 collegiate teams set out at 6:30am on Sunday, September 8, 2002 to catch the 7th Annual Big Ten Classic Conference Title held at Salamonie Reservoir, about 34 miles southwest of Fort Wayne, IN.

Fishing expert, Lonnie Stanley and ESPN's Camera crew were aboard a Skeeter Boat filming the Big Ten fishing tournament to be broadcasted at a later date. Tom Rust, Indiana University men's basketball chaplain will be the guest speaker for the Taylor TUFWC Alumni chapel at 10am, Friday, September 27, at First Missionary Church, 701 W. Rudisill Blvd., to kick off the campus' Homecoming/Parents' Weekend activities. Rust, from the class of 1972, played basketball while a student at Fort Wayne Bible College (now TUFWC) and served as the college's sports editor.

Hawaii came to the American Legion Post #296, on Tillman Road in August. The event was a big Kahuna Luau with a buffet that would please any Hawaiian palate, followed by  Grass Skirt, Hula Hoop, Don Ho and Best Dressed contests. The dancing and the decorations made you feel like you were on the island. Everyone went home with a smile on their face.

Marine Corps Pfc. Joshua S. Durnell, son of Gail and Steven Durnell Marine Corps Pfc. Ashley J. Becerra, son of Ellen K. and Jose A. Becerra of Mariners Ridge Drive, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.

Durnell and Becerra successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally. Durnell, Becerra and fellow recruits began their training at 5am by running three miles and performing calisthenics....
