Details WAYNEDALE Lions Club White Cane Drive

The good citizens of Waynedale responded with their hearts last Saturday on White Cane Day. Members of the Waynedale Lions Club and the League for the Blind manned the doors from 10am to 6pm raising $475!

Thank you to all who gave so generously of their time and money, as well as the owners, management and employees of Waynedale's Kroger Store.

The 122nd Fighter Wing is excited to see plans coming together for STARBASE Indiana for 2014, giving students across Fort Wayne the opportunity to learn Science Technology Engineering and Math through hands-on, mind-on education here at the 122nd Fighter Wing.

Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Ossian is sponsoring their 9th annual Bingo night and adding new items to their prize offerings donated by local businesses and Friends of Psi Iota Xi. Charlie and Joan Klenke, residents of the Waynedale area for 48 years, proudly hold their new Great, Great Grandson Matthew, born on September 27, 2013.

A collection of different breeds of dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits and birds were brought by their owners to the school entrance of St. Elizabeth Seton parish for the annual Blessing of the Animals on Friday, October 4.

Parishioners, religious education and school families gathered at the entrance of St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth School on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century Italian saint known for his love of creation and of animals.

OUTDOOR BOARDS HELP REDUCE CRIME

Next month, Fort Wayne area residents will begin seeing new outdoor advertising boards with messages from Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers. They call attention to the work that group has done to help stop and solve crimes and indicate the organization will turn 30 years old in November.

The messages are being displayed on a dozen outdoor boards in the area and are appearing thanks to the generosity of Eagle Outdoor Sign Company of Warsaw and Custom Art Screen Printing, Fort Wayne.
