KOREAN WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION INDIANA CHAPTER ONE MEETING

The November meeting of the KWVAIC#1 will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2003. There will be a time change from 9am to 8am due to the Veterans Day parade that morning. VOTE HERE! ELECTION DAY!

Ready to cast their ballots on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 were Dallas and Cari Dodane and Dora Saylor at Precinct #453, Mason Drive area in Waynedale.

There was a high interest in the mayoral race involving Mayor Graham Richard and Republican Linda Buskirk. In addition voters decided on a city clerk, and six district and three at-large City Council members.

CALVARY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH TO RE-OPEN

After being out of their building since the week of July 7, Calvary United Methodist Church, 6301 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, would like to invite the many friends and neighbors who helped us through the "Flood of 2003", to an Open House on Saturday, November 22 from 2-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE FORT WAYNE CHILDREN’S CHOIR?

Details These Waynedale kids share their talent and love of music by singing in the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir:  Jenna Rorick, Chalotte Janovyak, Christopher Busack, Teresa Lovejoy, Erik Bailey, Rebekah Kaelper, Rebekah Lewis, Jessica Savieo, and Katie Smith.  Photo was taken at Concordia Seminary in front of Wynken Hall during the FWCC summer rehearsal.        Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is celebrating “Three Decades of Song”.  Their concert schedule includes Harvest Concert  November 16, 2003 4pm at First Presbyterian Church 300 W. Wayne and Rejoice Concert  December 7, 2003  4pm  Plymouth Congregational Church.

The Fort Wayne Children's Choir has been in existence for 30 years, inviting people from kindergarten through high school to join with them. Founded in 1973 under the direction of Jocelyn Basse, FWCC now is directed by Fred Meads and has grown to a membership count of 275 singers.

MIAMI DISTRICT FALL CAMPOREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Details

The annual Miami District Fall Camporee held the weekend of October 3, 4, and 5, presented a great opportunity for the Scouts. Troop 344 arrived in New Haven, Indiana on Friday evening and set up camp in a dark, rainy, windy, and cold park. These Scouts have encountered adverse weather a time or two in the past and they came through again this time. They established a good campsite and erected tents that were dry on the inside. And they had a cooking area ready to go.

EAGLE SCOUT COURT HONORS FELICICHIA

Details Joan and Robert Felicichia are the proud parents of Eagle Scout Stephen Felicichia.

Stephen Felicichia of Troop 344 was inducted into the rank of Eagle Scout on October 14, 2003. Scoutmaster Bob Rainwaters convened the Court of Honors, with the presentation of colors and the Pledge of Allegiance. Pastor Mike Harris, Waynedale United Methodist Church, gave the invocation and Stephen was escorted to the seat of honor.

SCARECROW CONTEST

Details

Staff and residents of Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center joined in some Halloween fun with a scarecrow contest on Friday, October 17th. Each department/shift entered a scarecrow. VISIT THE MIDWEST'S OLDEST AMERICAN INDIAN STRUCTURE

Near the corner of Old Trail and Bluffton Road, next to the Fort Wayne Conservation Club, stands the oldest American Indian structure in the Midwest.
