Alma Mae Springer, longtime Waynedale resident, turned 90 on February 4th, 2006. Her children Bonnie, Dennis and Jim Springer hosted a party for all of her friends, relatives, church and ProTo Home Ec. Club members, and Waynedale residents at the Kingston Assisted Living Facility where she resides on Winchester Road.

Contractor Dan Stark grinds away 79 years of rust at WUMC.

Back in the early 1920s there were a group of Methodists who had been attending church at the corner of Dunkelberg and Bluffton Road. The structure they were using was sold and moved, which left the group without a place to worship. They moved their church meetings to the two-story house on the corner of Bluffton and Old Trail Road, the Elzey Funeral Home.

The Waynedale News Bowling team finished with a final score of 3304, not enough to be in the money but it was a fun time at Little Turtle Hillcrest Lanes on Sunday, January 22. L-R Christian Stacey, Jason McCarel, Chris Nikkel, Justin Slater and R.L. Stark.

The FWBA Annual City Tournament began on Saturday, January 7, 2006 for doubles, singles and team competition. Doubles and singles were held at Pro Bowl West. The team event was held at Little Turtle Hillcrest Bowl.

Larry Wedertz passed away in 2000 and was interested in science and young people. He was a friend of Jill Rinne who taught English at Bishop Luers from 1978-2001. Before Mr. Wedertz passed away he set up this scholarship with the help of Jill.
