Details Bishop Luers Football Follow Up # 54,  Ryan Palmer takes a knee while Greg Smith-Causey is escorted off the field.  Causey suffered a broken arm during the Bishop Luers State Championship game.  According to Coach Lindsay, Tony Moore who suffered a hamstring pull and Gregg Smith-Causey, are both on the mend and doing fine.

HHS STUDENT AMONG 29 FARM BUREAU CONTEST WINNERS

Farm Bureau Insurance recently announced that 29 high school students across Indiana have been selected as winners in the company's first "Gameplan for Life" competition. A Fort Wayne winner is Noel Klein from Homestead High School. CONGRATULATIONS LUERS FOOTBALL

Details Bishop Luers 2A State Champions: 1985, 1989, 1992, 1999, 2001 and 2002 take the field at the RCA Dome, Indianapolis.

There were 10,000 fans in the RCA Dome, cheering for their respective teams. The crowd was on a roller coaster ride, living and dying with every score.

Matt Lindsay, the veteran Luers Varsity football coach had put together an impressive 145-60 record over the past 16 years. He had 20 seniors on this year's football team and they had compiled an 11-3 record. Two of their three losses came from Snider and Bishop Dwenger who were also state finalists.

VETERANS DAY DIPLOMA

It was late in the day last Monday, Veteran's Day, when an elderly man wearing a mortarboard showed up at The Waynedale News. Bob Hughes, of 1627 Shoreview Drive, was carrying a new high school diploma. The lines in his face assured me he was close to being an octogenarian, but his smile was that of a 'brand' new high school graduate.
