On November 3, 2002, we had our annual, 'All You Can Eat Fish, Tenderloin, and Chicken Dinner. This dinner was held at our Station #1, 7001 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN (Waynedale). We would like to thank The Waynedale News for announcing our event in their Community Calendar. We had a great turn out, and it was directly related to their help. LOCAL DANA EXECUTIVE RECEIVES ANUTOMOTIVE HALL OF FAME AWARD

Fred D. Tucker, 35, director of Sales and Global Strategies – Torque and Traction Technologies Group for Dana Corporation is one of four winners of the Automotive Hall of Fame's 2002 Young Leadership and Excellence Award. The Wayne High School Blue Guard Marching Band began the season by winning the Carroll, Angola, and Wayne Invitational. They finished 2nd at the East Noble and Snider Invitational. On October 5th they received a Division 1 rating at the District Contest allowing them to advance to the Regionals in Carmel, IN. On Friday afternoon, November 1, more than 60 students representing all the high schools in Fort Wayne Community Schools will be meeting together to combine their talents in the All City Honors Choir. On October 5th 2002 at the Fall Conference of American Legion in Indianapolis, two students from Lindley Elementary School in Fort Wayne received awards of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond, each along with a plaque designating them the winners of the "Flag Test Program".

Approximately 24,000 4th grade students participated in the 11 districts of the American Legion from all over the state.
