FOUR WAYNEDALE AREA STUDENTS TO ATTEND LUGAR SYMPOSIUM

U.S. Sen. Richard G. Lugar today announced that area high school students have been selected to attend his "Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders" at the University of Indianapolis on December 8. Every high school in Indiana has been invited to select two outstanding juniors to attend the all-day conference. Last year, more than 500 students, representing high schools in almost all 92 counties across the state, attended the event.

Mary Isabelle Cotton Brockway's 90th birthday is December 19th. She was born in Bippus, Indiana in 1911. Her first marriage was to Steven Enoch Cotton (deceased 1978) of Huntington. Her children happily gave her hand to her current husband, Claude Brockway, in 1986.

INDIANA AIR NATIONAL GUARD CHRISTMAS TREES

Indiana Air National Guard Christmas Trees for sale at a great price of $15! Pictured selling trees are from L-R Bianca Prater, member of the IN Air Guard and Jessica Ferris, daughter of Steven Ferris, member of the IN Air Guard.

The lot is located on the south side of Ferguson Road (in the old Burlington parking lot).

The lot will be opened Monday-Friday 4:30pm-7pm and on Sat & Sun 12pm-7pm.

Proceeds from the sale will go to fund scholarships and disadvantaged youths.

On Monday, Nov 12, a hiker found some human bones about 800 feet southwest of Tillman Park parking lot. Next to the bones was a mountain bike. The area around the bones showed signs of a fire and there were a few personal effects in addition to the bicycle. CELEBRATING 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Jim and Lisa Michell celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at the American Legion Post #241 in Waynedale on Saturday, November 17th. They were married on October 30, 1976 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. They have three children-Jamie, Janessa, and Joe. Jim is a letter carrier in Waynedale and has been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 21 years. He is past S.A.L. Commander at Post #241/Sergeant at Arms.
