TUFWC AND INDIANA READING CORPS HOST SUMMER WRITING WORKSHOP

TUFWC and IRC will hold Summer Writing Workshop, Mondays-Thursdays, June 3-13, from 9am to 11am in Founders Hall Tutorial Center. There is no cost for the workshop, enrollment is limited.

The two-week writing workshop offers children, grades 4-6, fall of 2002, the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to write and publish their own book. Skills will be developed, step-by-step, under the direction of published authors and TUFW professional writing majors Sarah Steup (graduate) and Erica Williams (current TUFW student). Dr. Dennis Hensley, associate professor of English, will be a guest speaker at the workshop one day. Putting the skills into practice, students will complete their own book by the workshop's conclusion.

In working full-time as an author for 22 years before joining TUFW faculty, Dr. Hensley wrote six novels, five screenplays, 154 short stories, 25 nonfiction books, and more than 3,000 national newspaper and magazine features.

The workshop is free, but registration is limited. Applications will be accepted until the workshop is full. To register or for more information contact Sarah Steup at 744-8799.
