Greg Wiley lived in Huntington County for 30+ years and is now a 25+ year resident of Waynedale, Indiana residing on Fernwood Avenue. Greg has been diagnosed with Small Cell Carcinoma affecting his bladder, liver and lymph nodes. Small Cell Carcinoma is a highly aggressive type of cancer. Greg began chemotherapy in late March of this year and is taking a leave of absence from work hoping to return in six months.

63 year old, Greg grew up in Huntington County area of Mahan. He has 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He has been married to his wife, Linda (Yentes) for over 25 years.

Several friends and neighbors have gotten together and formed the Greg Wiley Benefit Fund. They call themselves the "Wiley Circle of Friends" and are planning several fundraising events to help defray the high cost of Greg's chemotherapy.

On Sunday, July 31, 2011 they are holding a golf outing at Norwood Golf Course in Huntington, Indiana.  The Wiley Circle of Friends are accepting items for door prizes and asking for hole sponsors. In September on the 17th they are having a Hog Roast/Chicken BBQ. There will also be an auction of items to raise money for Greg. The location of the Hog Roast/Chicken BBQ has not been decided.  A cookbook will be on sale, hopefully in August.  The Wiley Circle of Friends are also selling "Community FunBook" coupon books that have a wide variety of valuable discounts and free offers from Fort Wayne area businesses. These books are selling for $10.

All proceeds from these events are being used towards medical and living expenses.
