Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. In the 36 years that followed, Neil gave very few interviews and lived an extremely private life. Famous writers such as Stephen Ambrose and James Mitchner had vied for the privilege of writing Neil Armstrong's biography but the task fell to former Waynedale resident Jim Hansen.

ABOITE TOWNSHIP ONE-ROOM SCHOOL REUNION

Details

The fifteenth annual Aboite Township One-Room School Reunion was held on Saturday, October 4, at the Aboite Township Fire Station Reception Room on Aboite Center Road with a total of 50 in attendance. Of the eight one-room schools, Aboite Center # 5 was well represented. The eight schools of the township were: Klaehn #1, Stouder #2, Harper #3, Cory #4, Aboite Center #5, Bullard #6, Homestead #7 and Hogg #8.
