Last summer, I embarked on a journey half way across the world to the West African country of Ghana. I lived, breathed and embraced the Ghanaian culture and lifestyle for four weeks, teaching, learning, helping and growing along the way.

South Side High School World History Teacher Emily Oberlin has been named the 2013 Fort Wayne Community Schools Teacher of the Year. Oberlin began her teaching career six years ago and has spent the last three years at South Side, joining the school when it became a LEAD school.

Taking place on picturesque Main Street in beautiful, historic Roanoke, the street will be closed to accommodate the 30+ quality antique dealers. On the rainy Memorial Day, this year spirits were great in remembrance of the fallen and, those who are willing, heroes that we love. As many of us celebrated Memorial Day weekend and the beginning of summer with friends and families, in Waynedale we most importantly remembered those who have given their lives for our freedom.

William E. and Edith (Pfeiffer) Armington will celebrate their 60th anniversary with family.
William and Edith were married June 13, 1953 in Waynedale United Methodist Church.
They have five daughters: Debi (Dave) Moore, Fort Wayne, Cindy (Paul) Bussey, Florida, Karen (Eric) Alspaugh, Warsaw, Brenda (Gary) Hess of Yoder, Jennifer (Andy) Alspaugh of Warsaw. They have 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth School students put on three performances of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast Jr." for students, families and friends of St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth School.
