This year the Mihsihkinaahkwa Powwow Committee is very pleased to offer Native American Arts & Crafts Workshops during the week prior to the powwow.

Since this is a new undertaking for them, they will be starting out with 4, one-day classes. If this proves to be popular, they expect to be able to increase the number of classes available next year.

Pansy Williams is a lady with a passion for quilting. She grew up the youngest of ten children. Her mother said you must learn how to "cook and sew." She had one last chance to make a "domestic engineer." Pansy, was the one.

She was married to Don Williams in 1960 and got into that role right away! Over the years, three little girls joined the family. When the youngest one went to high school in 1984, Pansy said, "What am I going to do with myself?"

Kalene Powell won fourth place in the stock division 65th All-American soapbox derby last Saturday, July 27th. 148 local winners competed in the stock division. Kalene was only one photo finish away from having a chance to win the championship. Then she won the three-car "run-off" race for forth, fifth and sixth.
