Catherine G. Sontchi, 87, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Jackson, Michigan, she was an auditor for Stillmans Department Store for 10 years. She was a member of Christ's United Methodist Church in Roanoke, Indiana. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and bridge. She is preceded in death by her husband George G. Sontchi who passed away December, 28, 1995 and by brothers Kenneth Bryan, Robert Bryan, Forest Bryan and Eugene Bryan.

Louisa F. Johnson, 93, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Brenham, Texas. A native of Leo, Indiana, she was a lifetime resident and homemaker in Fort Wayne. She was the daughter of Orange Fredrick and May Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband Leland F. Johnson who passed away in 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Delta Gamma Sorority and Tri Kappa Sorority. She is survived by a son Thomas F. Johnson, New Ulm, Texas.

Van Buren Perrine, 86, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at St. Joe Hospital. He was a self-employed salesman and retired in 1982. He was an Army WWII Veteran. He is preceded in death by wife Audrey Doreen (Andrews) who passed away in 1993. He is the son of Joseph Perrine and Ruth Lucy (Parker).

Dorothy R. Close, 76, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at her Fort Wayne residence. A native of Lowell, Indiana she was treasurer of Waynedale Neighborhood Association and enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by here husband Arthur Close who passed away April 28, 1992.

She is survived by brothers Dean Osburn, Hebron, Indiana; Duane Osburn, Anderson, Indiana; and Dale Osburn, Fort Wayne.

A whooping crane from the migration class of 2001 has been spotted in the company of sandhill cranes at Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife area near Medaryville, Ind.

The bird was first spotted at the property on Saturday, Nov. 16. It was seen the previous day in northern Illinois near the Wisconsin border. It left Marquette County, Wis. about a week ago. Donald E. Bunn, 75, died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Hospice Home of NE Indiana. A native of Fort Wayne, he worked for Graves Trucking for 33 years and retired in 1999. He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Elmer Pond Post #1, a Life Member of the American Wheelchair Bowling Association, a AWBA Hall of Fame Member (inducted in 1988), a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church, and a WWII US Army Infantry Veteran.
