Alan died on April 12, 2003 from complications from a motorcycle accident. His accident occurred on Yoder Road at approximately 2:15pm. He was taken by helicopter to Parkview Hospital, where he died a couple of hours later.

Francille M. Henkenias Torres, 74, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Fort Wayne, she was an inspector at General Electric for 10 years. She was a player and coach for Fort Wayne Women's Softball League and she enjoyed her grandkids. She was preceded in death by husband Leo Phillip Henkenias who passed away in 1955.

Billie Jean Gillman, 74, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Rochester, Pennsylvania, she a homemaker and a member of first Presbyterian Church in Ossian, Indiana. Esther Joan Daugherty, 76, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Bluffton, Indiana she was employed at Century Beauty Salon for 50 years as a beautician.
