Charles L. "Shorty" Kreider, 79, died Monday, April 15, 2002 in Fort Wayne. A native of Whitley County he was a parts courier for Navistar International for 30 years, retiring in 1974. He was a WWII Army Veteran and did volunteer work for the children's home in Reynosa, Mexico.

N. Mary Vulgamott, 84, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 in Fort Wayne. A native of Dorsey, Illinois, she was a nurse and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband Earl Metzger who passed away in 1958 and by her second husband Leroy Vulgamott who passed away in 1970. A native of Mount Clemens, Michigan, she was a homemaker and Senior Class President, Monroe High School, Monroe, Michigan. Henry E. Starnes, 81, died Monday, April 1, 2002 at Covington Manor Nursing Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Winchester, Tennessee, he was a crane operator with Nobis Construction for 20 years and retired in 1982. He was a member of D.A.V. and a World War II Army veteran.
