Richard Joseph Nichter, Sr., 78, died Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Harborside Healthcare. A native of Fort Wayne, he was a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service and retired in 1981. He had previously worked for Fort Wayne Dental Lab for 20 years. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and the VFW. He was a WWII Airforce Veteran. Mary Ruth Lay Nusbaum, 64, died Monday, February 18 at her Seneca, South Carolina Residence. A native of Corbin, Kentucky, she was a supervisor of Water Therapy at American Red Cross for 23 years and retired in 1990. A native of Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker, a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening. Ethel C. Wheeler Shoner, 94, died Monday, February 25, at Parkview Hospital. Born in Illinois, she worked at General Electric for 15 years and then was a home maker.
