ELIZABETH "CHAR" CHARLAYNE MILLS, 73, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Ossian, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at her residence. Born March 1, 1932, in Buck Run, Pennsylvania, she was a waitress at Dutch Mill, Bluffton and Packaging Dept. at Tuthill Pump, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Eastern Star, Fremont and Den Mother, Ossian Cub Scouts.

JOE L. THORNTON, 43, of Huntington, Indiana died Friday, July 22 at Huntington. Born December 12, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Ralph W. and Glenda Thornton of Fort Wayne. He was a truck driver for Evans Equipment in Butler, Indiana. He was a Marine and enjoyed hunting and old cars.

NORMAN P. JOHNSON, 90, of Yoder, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at home. Born November 15, 1914, in Huntington County, he retired from W.T. Grant Warehouse, in 1975. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Johnson of Yoder; daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Voirol of Leo and Cheryl (Ken) Bloom of Fort Wayne; sons, Timothy (Rose) Johnson of Roanoke and David (Kelly) Johnson of Ossian; and eight grandchildren.

RUBY I. REDINGER, 83, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 24, 2005, at her residence. Born March 24, 1922, in Silver Lake, Ind., she was a clerk at Essex Wire for 17 years, retiring in 1980. She was an active Bible Study Group member at her church, Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, Fort Wayne. She loved needle working and was an avid reader.

EUGENE J. SMITH, 70, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born August 8, 1934, in Fort Wayne, he worked in maintenance for Allen County Library, Midwestern United Life Insurance and Stat Care.

Surviving are, his stepfather, Henry Dick Sutorius of Fort Wayne; and aunt, Jennie Lee Harp of Lumberton, Texas.
