MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL HAS CHANGED

A couple of weeks ago we talked about how Major League Baseball has changed. Today we'll discuss how Minor League Baseball has changed.

Several years ago there were 40 to 50 minor leagues. Now there are 14 with 5 independents that choose not to be a part of the National Association. The lower minors had classifications of D, C, and B. If a person advanced there wasn't any question about a better league. Now with an A classification for the lower minors...

Times have changed especially baseball

The rationale we now use to explain the strange things happening is: "Times Have Changed." This is true; times have changed especially baseball.

Modern day players stats are compared to old timers that missed 3 to 4 years while in the service. Ted Williams served in both WWII and Korea. Mrs. Wayne Dale is still on her bare-it-all vacation. A week or so ago she packed up her tubby hubby and her 'thong' and headed for the sunny South to put a finishing touch on her tan for the winter and I lost the draw again to write her column. I just hope she doesn't insist we all take a look at her tan like the last time she got back from Florida. Wayne was so tanned he looked like a big disrobed football without the lacing. She on the other hand looked like she was wearing a set of...

WE WILL REMEMBER

Details

On Sunday, September 8, we ask you to please join with us in prayer for our nation, our leaders and our service men and women.

September 11 is a date that we have set aside to remember those veterans –men and women- who gave their life in the war against terrorism that we might live as "One Nation Under God."

We should pray for those who fought for our freedom and also for the families of those whose lives were given to pay for this liberty that we enjoy.

On September 11, 2001, we watched in...
