The Great Adventure

High school yearbooks are real treasures. On one hand, they contain photographs and memories of days gone by, but they also point forward in anticipation of what is to come. Many of us remember standing on a stage somewhere, wearing a gown, a silly looking hat with a mortarboard on the top, and a tassel, which never did quite stay where it was supposed to. And as we walked to the principal and received that highly prized diploma, we knew that we had taken the first...

Some movies are good and make it look easy. A good example would be Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl starring Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings), Geoffrey Rush (Frida) and Johnny Depp (Blow). Pirates tells the story of a boy (Bloom) out to save his girl (Keira Knightley, Bend it Like Beckham) with the help of a pirate who wants his ship back, even if its crew is under a curse. Oh my darlin', oh, my darlin', oh my darlin', Clementine!

Oooooohhh I just have to tell you, Wayne and I have found just the nicest restaurant and the name is of course, you guessed it; Clementine's. Thoughts About the Great Flood of 2003

Rev. Chris Madison

Pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church

Do you remember the past several summers when the temperature in July was 95 degrees, plus? It doesn't seem too long ago that we were complaining that our lawns were brown and dead! We wondered where the water went. Now we know! Nature was saving it up for July of 2003!

The whole Midwest has been battered by thunderstorms and flooded by rain like many of us haven't...

Ode to the Summer Movie

A Review by Kasey Butcher

It's July let's give a cheer.
And summer movies all are here.
So load the friends up in the car
To check out some sequels that are up to par.
A second movie's hard to do
But Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Red, White, and Blonde really pull through.

The former stars some real cool chicks
The Angel's love to get (and give) their power kicks.
Cameron Diaz plays Natalie
She's sweet, she's brilliant, and kind of silly.
Alex is played by Lucy Lui...
