Dear Cindy (Cornwell),

Thank you so much for delivering copies of THE WAYNEDALE NEWS to the base, after all. Time got away from me the day I was going to stop by in person. Several people had already told me, "Nice picture and write-up." I agree!

Again, many thanks.

To the Editor,

The dozens of individuals who labored long and hard in the search for the body of Christina Suttle in the National Serv-All Landfill are greatly disappointed...

(Ephesians 4:32) Being kind. How many times in a day do we lose our temper, snap at those we love, ignore those we work with, go to school with, and interact with each day? Sometimes, we are so wrapped up in our life, our problems, AND what we are trying to get done, we simply tune out others. You see, being kind requires us to care for others. Let's see what was it? Oh yes, Wayne and I went to K-Mart recently over by Park West shopping center. I heard they were going out of business and thought I'd go pick up some bargain drapes for the bedroom. They weren't going out of business wouldn't you know. They have applied for bankruptcy...

Talk about 'sticker shock', I got the surprise of my life the other day. My grandson Raymond Andrew recently joined Cub Scout Pack 3025 sponsored by South Wayne Elementary School or at least that's where they meet. I had promised Andrew that I would buy his first uniform shirt. I'll get to the sticker shock in a moment.

When our own two boys, Patrick and Michael, joined the Cub Scouts, you could find good used shirts at Salvation Army, Goodwill, or in garage sales. You can never find them...

To the Editor,

The Four Chaplains of World War II are remembered in February because their ship sank off the coast of Greenland on February 3, 1943. American Legion Post 296 will honor them with a short interfaith ceremony on Tuesday, February 19.

These four U.S. Army Chaplains were on the Dorchester, Troop ship carrying 900 soldiers. When the ship was struck by a torpedo, the four chaplains passed out life jackets until all were gone. Then they took off their own precious jackets, gave...
