The Lollipop

A mother told me a very moving story about her three-year-old daughter, Beth, who was the youngest child in their neighborhood. She toddled after the big kids but understood that they didn't really want her along.

One day this mother looked out her kitchen window and saw Beth standing at a fence, watching the other children playing baseball. They wouldn't let her play, of course, and it was upsetting her. Suddenly the little girl ran into the house calling, "Lollipop, Mom! I...

Dear Mr. McCune:

With Veterans' Day approaching soon, I want to thank THE WAYNEDALE NEWS for this opportunity to honor and to thank all of our Veterans, every veteran from the very first conflict when the First Shot was fired in our Nation's struggle for independence and every conflict and war thereafter in the defense of freedom and to maintain world peace. Those who are with us now and those who are gone. And the real heroes who never came home. Barbara and I pray for all of the...

Oooooooohhh I just have to tell you of the bestest time I had the other night at the TAKAOKA OF JAPAN steakhouse. It was a very expensive night also but for...

Dear Editor,

I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading your paper as it has large print for us older people. I pick it up at Davis' Restaurant in Markle, where we live now.

Thanks again for a large print newspaper.

Sincerely,

Mariann Hartman

(Thank you Mariann for the nice words. We started delivering THE WAYNEDALE NEWS to the Markle area about a year and a half or so ago when Mrs. Wayne Dale first visited Davis' Family Restaurant and did a review in her HOMETOWN VIEWS...
