Ooooooh I just have to tell you, my little old tubby hubby Wayne and I have been keeping close to home lately. It's just too darned cold to go out anywhere. Wayne has even been buying his adult beverages and bringing them home instead of swilling with the boys at the Legion. I think it's a good idea since he doesn't have to drive after he consumes one or tee martoonies as he calls them; the little twirp thinks he's funny. It's cheaper to drink at home, and a lot safer.

We did manage to go...

Is it better to have loved and lost or to never have loved at all? Cold Mountain, starring Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger address this question and so much more.

Cold Mountain tells the story of a city girl, Ada (Kidman), who moves to the small town of Cold Mountain just prior to the Civil War. Shy Ada quickly befriends equally shy Inman (Jude Law) and a romance blossoms between them. Their timid love story is interrupted, however, by the announcement of war. Just like all the other...

Attention Waynedalers:

An Apology is in Order

We may be a small town, bi-weekly newspaper but we try to do our jobs as professionally as possible. We don't always catch every misspelled word, mistake, or misquote but we try our best to bring you the news and be as accurate as we can be. What am I getting at? Ooooooh I just have to tell you, Wayne and I received a gift certificate for Hall's Restaurants. We got to go out to eat for free, if you don't count the tip that my spendthrift little tubby hubby left for that cute little ol' waitress that was so all fired nice to us. Not that I mind a nice, good natured, kind, considerate bubbly person to wait on us mind you, but they should never send one so nicely built and so young. Wayne spilled his water, dropped his napkin for the umpteenth time and...

Although I live 2000 miles away, I still think of Waynedale as home. I have been away for nearly 30 years but I look forward to The Waynedale News and read it cover to cover, but always start with Mrs. Waynedale for news on good restaurants in the area, and of course, her darling Tubby Hubby. Don't let her get away. Thank you so much for continuing to send the paper to me each time it comes out. God bless you all and keep you in his shelter. Mrs. Barbara Claymiller, FL

Have a Happy New...
