Oooooohhh I just have to tell you I've eaten too much over the holidays and I am at the point that I can't stand to look at rich food. I think I gained about twenty-five pounds the way my girdle fits. It's straining at the staves and I'm afraid someone is going to get hurt if it ever decides to let go and explode. My cute little tubby hubby stays the same weight; he doesn't gain an ounce or lose an ounce but then he's around 1200 ounces overweight to start with.

We decided to go on a diet...

AT THE MOVIES WITH KASEY BUTCHER

Details

I was once told that it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round, and I didn't really understand what that meant until I reached high school. I have often wondered how my life would be different if I pursued different interests. What if I was an athlete instead of on the newspaper staff? What if I was in cheerleading instead of show choir? In Catch Me If You Can, a boy not much older than myself asks how his life would be different if he was a pilot, a doctor, or a lawyer, and he...

Every time I pick up a paper or turn on the TV I'm reading about or listening to politicians tell how broke thestate/city/county/DNR/license bureau is. Take your pick. ON NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS AND OTHER PROMISES

'Tis the season to make all those annual New-Year's resolutions... you know, the promises you make to yourself to exercise more, go on a diet to lose 40 pounds, improve your mind by taking a class, read Scripture daily, attend Mass more often, pray the rosary, the list goes on.

Not that there's anything wrong with any of those pledges, but how come before the first month of the new year draws to a close on January 31, most of our resolutions have...

FOX ISLAND AND SPACES TO LIVE

Details

Fox Island seems an awfully long ways from the shores of the Bosphorus here in Istanbul. No wonder it seems a long way off, after all, it is...several thousand miles to be more specific. When my family is in Allen County, we take comfort in the fact that Fox Island's trails can carry us away from the cement and asphalt of the ever-growing, ever-moving highways and byways of Fort Wayne. That's why we eagerly purchased an annual pass last time we were home. It seems like good things happen...

FREEDOMS
I received this through my e-mail and decided to share it with you. I can relate to it because my G-G-G-Grandfather came over from Ireland to fight in the Revolutionary War. There were quite a few McCune's that fought in that war as well as the War of 1812, the Civil War (both sides) and every war since including Operation Desert Storm (including two of my sons). I think that if you read it, you will realize that FREEDOM isn't FREE; it is very costly; it's paid for with lives, blood...
