Waynedale Politial Commentaries

What are your Waynedale (Fort Wayne), Indiana politicians working on for you? Local, regional and state wide politics can be found here written by your elected officials.

The signs that spring has finally arrived in Fort Wayne are all around us. Not only are the flowers blooming, but also the grass is beginning to turn green and grow. Which brings us to one of the ways City employees know spring is finally here: Neighborhood Code Enforcement is starting the 2002 City Weed Program.

After one year since its enactment, the "Do Not Call" telemarketing law has been, without question, one of the most successful and popular laws ever to have been established in our state. To date, over one million people have signed up with the Attorney General's office, and Allen County has the most signees per capita of any county in the state. Needless to say, the people have responded to this concept.

The ground was too muddy for the actual hunt, so the staff gave the eggs away with the "goodie bags". We did something different this year by offering photos with the...

How about those Hoosiers? The recent NCAA run of the IU basketball team was certainly amazing. I think even a strong Purdue fan or someone who isn't much of a basketball fan at all would have to agree that IU's team played up to and probably beyond their potential. Kudos also to Bishop Luers' ladies' basketball team! The Lady Knights were the champions in their division in the state tournament and, like the IU men's team, won not only because of their athletic skills but also because of their...
