We here at Wayne Township just finished up a couple of major events, namely a sign-up day for pharmaceutical savings cards and the awards banquet for our 3rd annual Computer Explorers camp. We enjoyed a small breather, but the momentum continues for us. On Saturday, August 10th, we participated in the Black Expo parade and had a great time. And on Sunday, August 11, we assisted the Minority Health Coalition of Allen County with their 4th annual Children's Health Fair.

I've been a strong supporter of the concept of "community-oriented government" since long before I was elected to City Council in 1995. This approach has gone a long way during the last few years toward stimulating citizen activism and making sure that local government listens to and responds to that activism.
