VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP: ROLL OUT THE YEAR

Details Richard A. Stevenson

I grew up in a family of eleven children and learned at an early age about not having an abundance of material possessions. While I was surrounded by love as a child, I still had difficulty at Christmas understanding why I couldn't have all the gifts I wanted. And, looking back now, I know the adults who loved me regretted that they were not able to give me all I wanted for Christmas.

I remember that I never really thought much about being poor until Christmas came, and I saw all the toys my...

Organization Day is marked by the swearing in of new General Assembly members and the first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides each House and Senate caucus...

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR: COMMERCIAL FACADE GRANT

Details MAYOR HENRY

As most of you know, I truly believe neighborhoods are the heart of our community. As a city councilman and as Mayor, I've been committed to strengthening our neighborhoods and helping to make our commercial corridors thriving areas of business and activity.

That's why, five years ago, I started the Commercial Façade Grant program. Businesses looking to improve their curb appeal may be able to get a boost from this very popular program – which provides local businesses the opportunity to apply...

VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP: VETERANS

Details RICHARD A. STEVENSON

Two very important days for all Americans will occur shortly. These are Election Day next Tuesday, November 6, and Veterans Day on Sunday, November 11. On Election Day, we can be thankful for the freedom we have to cast our vote; and on Veterans Day, we honor those who served our Country to ensure our right to vote.

Our Veterans, and those who currently are serving, have made many sacrifices for our Country and for all of us. I am honored to be able to pay tribute to them for their service...
