State Senate President Pro Tempore Bob Garton (R-Columbus) announced the appointment of State Senator David Long (R-Fort Wayne) to the Government Efficiency and Financing Study Commission.

Last week, I had the opportunity to walk around downtown Fort Wayne with a couple of out-of-towners, explaining how it used to look in the early 1980's, as compared to its current appearance. Good News!! The most recent crime statistics are out for the City of Fort Wayne. Total crimes are down 2.5% for the 1st 5 months of 2004 compared to a similar period last year. This is a significant development, especially considering the sluggish national and area economy!
