The Senate and House are now at the halfway point of the 2004 Session, which means that the Senate will now hear House bills, and vice versa. For legislation to become law, it must pass through both legislative chambers, and be signed by the Governor.

In the near future you'll hear quite a bit about an extensive study of Fort Wayne's parks that has just been completed. There were numerous public meetings and questionnaires that were distributed throughout the city during the information gathering phase of the parks study. Several residents of Waynedale made a special effort to attend public meetings and offered their input. I haven't seen the final report yet and it won't become official policy until it has been accepted by the Park Board...

There are many Fort Wayne residents who go to work every day but still find it very difficult to make ends meet. The City of Fort Wayne is reaching out to help low-income working individuals and their families. Through a partnership with the Internal Revenue Service and local social service agencies, the City of Fort Wayne is conducting the Mayor's Money in Your Pocket Campaign.
