Recently there's been some great news for the entire south side of Fort Wayne. Walmart has announced that they will open a new store at Southtown Centre (formerly Southtown Mall). A combination of Menard's —- which will break ground this year —- and Walmart at Southtown should draw even more businesses. I've always felt that taxing property is one of the most unfair forms of taxation. Property taxes often hit those on fixed incomes such as elderly retirees the hardest.
