THE VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP

The Wayne Township Trustee's office is keenly aware of the recent surge in technology. Computer enhanced imaging, mobile government and systems integration creates a whole new world of possibilities. Our Computer System's Department has been taking advantage of the technological advances that have become available, and has succeeded in having very little computer system down time. Keeping our systems up to date and working properly enhances our ability to serve our clients and the community...

"There is no place like home." I've heard that rally cry loud and clear as I've listened to citizens tell me what is important to them. It's understandable that most seniors and disabled on Medicaid would rather stay at home than be in institutional care. What may come as a surprise is that the cost of staying at home is quite often less expensive for the state to administer.

Last year's "Great Easter Egg Hunt" by the Wayne Township's Outreach Department was a "Great" success. Over 500 community members and two special guests came out and endured the chilly breeze to show support for all the children. Our first and most special guest, the Easter Bunny, once again chose to partner with our staff and other area volunteers to bring a special treat to the children most in need. The second guest, although uninvited, was a beautiful white blanket of snow to remind us of...

FROM THE DESK OF SENATOR DAVID LONG

This week, Senate Republicans announced our JOBS Plan, a legislative package to create high-paying jobs in Indiana. The plan was amended into House Bill 2008 in the Senate Finance Committee and will move to the full Senate for a vote during the week of April 7th.

Indiana needs jobs now. We can't afford to wait 10 years to see results. I'm proud of what the JOBS Plan will do for Hoosiers. The JOBS Plan provides about the same amount of funding for economic development as the Governor's proposal...
